![]() Long story short, when he finally arrives, the fire department is at our facility trying to decide how to remediate 450 gallons of concentrated nitric/phosphoric acid that has leaked in our parking lot and down the storm sewer. He incredulously asks if I tightened the fitting, I say yes. So I call our sales guy and explain the situation. A few minutes later it is dripping more and I realize that I cannot tighten it. So I tighten it, and it seems to stop, and I go back about my business. About 45 minutes after they leave, I notice the acid tank dripping from around the bulkhead. So they filled up the tanks and took off, driving back their 90+ minutes to their depot. Unfortunately for us, the container they had set aside for caustic had a black iron nipple between the tank's bulkhead and the valve on the bottom. So acid cleaner went into the container they had set aside for caustic and vice-versa. On our first delivery of chemical into the storage containers, the sales guy was here and the delivery guy was here, unfortunately they got to chatting and the delivery guy mixed up the containers. ![]() the chemicals are fine, but geez, we had some bad luck otherwise. We switched from Loeffler to Chemstation about a year ago to save some money. I think it happened about 2 years ago now. I posted this experience about a year ago.
